The oval gear flowmeter is a high-precision flow meter based on the volumetric measurement principle. It is mainly used for liquid flow measurement, especially for high-viscosity media.
Ⅰ. Working Principle
The pressure difference between the inlet and outlet fluid drives a pair of meshing oval gears to rotate. The gears and the housing form a periodically changing sealed cavity (crescent-shaped cavity), and four times the cavity volume of fluid is discharged every rotation. The gear rotation number is transmitted to the counting mechanism through magnetic coupling and converted into flow data output.
